Hey! Although I've still got a couple years before I need to apply anywhere, I've already got my eye on Oxbridge since my brother goes to Oxford and I'm already kind of in love with it! I have a vague idea about which subjects I want to take at A Level/which courses I would want to do there, and I think I could get the target grades required to get in, but do any of you guys know what else would be good to help someone get in? My brother did CREST awards and debating among other things, but I don't really want to do the same as him because we are two very different people, and I don't think I would enjoy them as much as him! Thanks for any help!

My one tip is to start studying for the entry exams early on. They're tough and it helps to do lots of practice tests to get to know the questions and format. Don't be intimidated by them. Also know that if you don't have the grades for your A level subjects, you probably won't get through to the test stage. Then if you don't make the test grades, you won't go through to the interviews. They're generally very focused on your grades. Once you figure out what major you want to apply for, make sure you're taking the A level courses you need to apply. For extracurricular activities, yes, it's good to take ones which work with your major, but most importantly, make sure they are ones that you enjoy. Only if you enjoy them will you be able to really speak and write about them well, and this is important for your application.
