Hi! I'm not too sure what GRASP is, but here are the steps you may want to take: - They're giving you the phenotype frequencies for mouse eyes.
- Assign black eyes to p and red eyes to q.
- p + q = 1 => (499/567) + (68/567) = 1 (remember, p and q are fractions of the total population)
- Now square the equation: p^2 + 2pq + q^2 = 1.
- Substitute p and q in this second equation. This will give you genotype frequencies!
For part B, do the same thing and compare the q^2 values from both parts. Microevolution is a change in frequencies of an allele over a long time; if the q^2 value is much different, you can say that microevolution has occurred.
